Government wants to raise the state pension age to 67 in 2021. We need to put our foot down! We need to say STOP! #Stop67 #PensionAge
SIPTU members from every constituency in Ireland are demanding that all political parties, TDs and Senators sign up to STOP the state pension age increasing from 66 to 67 in 2021.
A further increase in the pension age to 68 in 2028 will mean a cut of nearly 10% in pension income over a person’s lifetime in retirement.
It is unacceptable that people are being forced to retire and then forced on to unemployment payments even though they have worked and paid taxes all their lives. This is not right and it is not fair.
We are demanding action and for the incoming Government to stop the increase in the pension age and to kickstart a real debate about building a fair pension system for all.
Let's make it happen together. Support the #STOP67 campaign and make a fair pension an election issue in 2020.
